Byala and Solnik Sunday 30/9-18
Today I drove to Solnik to pick up some kitchen utensils we bought this summer and stored on the farm. I could now use this in the apartment in Byala. It rained all day, presumably due to storms in the Mediterranean.
I was greeted by 20-30 goats + a guard dog on the farm. The shepherd I think ran off, but his jacket was left. When a farm is unused for several years, the land is used for grazing, as is the case in Bulgaria and probably elsewhere as well. This is really just an advantage for us, that they graze and keep the vegetation down .. But better fencing will be needed when the restoration starts.
To my dismay, I discovered that I was missing one of the keys to the house on the farm. But luckily this was not the key to the room with the equipment we had stored away. I called Jorunn’s home and asked if she could check drawers and cupboards, but after much searching at home, the answer was no. What a pity….
Otherwise, it was wonderful to just enjoy the peace back in the apartment in Byala. We were a little unsure if we would hear anything from the traffic from the main road, but we do not from this side of the apartment complex, which is located at the back by the swimming pool and the outdoor / barbecue area.
