Arrival Burgas 14 August 2022
It was night and dark when we landed in Burgas approx. 04:00 14 August. And there is Slavi smiling as I leave the arrivals hall. He was at work to pick up Norwegian tourists. I didn’t recognize him at first, but when I heard that he spoke Norwegian, I realized it was him. Nice to greet Slavi again.
As always, I got carsick on the mountain road, but managed to avoid throwing up on the trip over the mountain. Once there, it was getting light and we caught the sunrise.
After making the bed and preparing the room of various things we have gathered from the farm, placing it on the veranda + taking a “anchor drink”, we fell asleep soundly at 07.00. We woke up around 11:00 and unpacked our suitcases and tidied up the apartment a bit. Then it was just a matter of shopping for some food before we went to the restaurant in Byala to eat. When we got home to the apartment again we had to help a couple of new tourists to get in touch with Bulgarian Home Care to be allocated the apartment they were going to rent here. It went well eventually. As a thank you, they brought us a melon as a thank you. It came from his grandfather’s garden. Very nice!
