Sofia 5/11-21
This is my last day in Bulgaria for this time, and the time is running way too fast. Next time will be in the Easter next year. I drove from Byala towards Sofia around 8 am, and programmed the Google Map to find the best way to the highway towards Sofia. At first, the route choices seemed pretty straightforward, as far as I could tell. But after 2 hours driving I started to wonder why I never got to the highway. The roads were nice and the signs pointed towards Sofia, but it seemed that Google Map avoided the highway. The nice thing about the car I rented was that it had integrated Apple Carplay, so I could easily switch between music and Google Map, just touching the Car screen. But when I suspected that there was something wrong with the settings, I had to stop to find out. And rightly so, Google Map was set on avoiding highways, toll booths ie. Toll stations don’t exist in Bulgaria as far as I know, but now I understood why I never got to the highway. Can’t remember having made these settings, and now I quickly realized why Google Map wanted me off the highway when I drove from Sofia to Byala. Anyway, I had a good time and I saw a lot of beautiful nature on the road. When I arrived at Sofia around 14 pm it was 26 degrees. Can’t say I like to go home…
