Byala and Solnik 31/7-18
Today, Roar went to Solnik alone to take more drone photos and put a padlock on the door to the mill. Jorunn stayed in Byala and had a ‘relaxing’ day.

Today, Roar went to Solnik alone to take more drone photos and put a padlock on the door to the mill. Jorunn stayed in Byala and had a ‘relaxing’ day.

I went to Solnik to check the demolition work of the houses. I think I don’t want to comment on the first sight of the place. The history of the place was now laying on the ground. I shoot up the drone and took some pictures, but unfortunately there was some problem with the gimbal…
After the trip to Varna we drove to Solnik Garden. All houses is now gone and there is nothing much to see. But we still can feel the piece of being there.
At the time of writing, I sit in Byala with a glass of Martini Bianco and think that I am lucky to have this opportunity. To be able to plan early active retirement life in Solnik together with Roar. It will be good ? The last trees behind the mill are taken out, tired, dirty…
Today we have invited Vanjas family to an Norwegian lunch at Byala Residence, with food brought from Norway. They arrived with some beautiful flowers. Except for Plamen that is working in the Netherlands as an electrician. We brought with us different types of herring (pickled herring, tomato herring, spicy herring), smoked salmon, liver pie, shrimp…
Waking up without having to get up to catch a train, i.e. bus for train as it is now, is pleasant……Even if it’s hot outside, we sleep well. The apartment itself is cold or cool. Mail ticks in from the dentist in Varna that the hours have been moved from 2 pm to 1 pm….
Today I drove to Solnik to pick up some kitchen utensils we bought this summer and stored on the farm. I could now use this in the apartment in Byala. It rained all day, presumably due to storms in the Mediterranean. I was greeted by 20-30 goats + a guard dog on the farm. The…
