Svilengrad 17 August 2022
Finally eggs and bacon for breakfast. Roar has been waiting for it 😊, especially now that we are going to drive about 20 miles(200 km) to Svilengrad. Then it’s good to have some food in your stomach that lasts for a while.
Svilengrad seems like a sleepy town. Either it is too late in the year or too early in the evening. Not many visitors anyway. We only found one restaurant that was open after an hour of walking in and around the center, if we found the center at all. It was Restaurant Parka, on the way back to the hotel, Parish hotel, where we have booked for 2 nights. The hotel and restaurant are located by a fantastically large and beautiful park. Well maintained, clean and tidy. It is a pleasure to come to such places. We will check tripadvisor for other restaurant options tomorrow.
The temperature is noticeably higher than in Byala. 36 degrees, but as long as I’m impregnated with 50+ it goes just fine. At 8 pm there was a change in the park by the hotel and restaurant. Children and parents alike. It was full of life. Tomorrow after breakfast, a couple we came into contact with will show us some places that are for sale down here. Unfortunately, time is running out for us in Solnik and perhaps it is time to look for new opportunities. It doesn’t hurt to check anyway. It will be with a heavy heart anyway, but you just have to realize that the bureaucracy can make anyone give up. But we must be faithful to our dream, it is in Bulgaria that we want to be. The country, the freedom and the cost to live here is amazing. The nature in Bulgaria is absolutely fantastic, as well as the climate.
With mixed feelings we take the evening.
