Bulgaria 16 May to 23 May 2018
The goal of this trip was to visit some farms around the Sunny Beach area and some farms in the area around Byala, together with the ladies from LDT Properties. We were also to meet Daniela from Solymar LTD properties again. New exciting places to see. Can we find the dream place this time? But of course we are excited to see the farm in Solnik, the farm we learned about on the way home from Bulgaria last time we were here in March.
We book at Hote Dukov in Obzor as usual We are starting to get to know this hotel well now.
Since we come out of season we always get the best rooms. They have a good kitchen and the staff there is very nice. We have had good contact with one of the waiters Dimitar who always asks if we have found our place.
May 17 we meet Dodrinka & co again and she has several beautiful properties to show us. They have really done a great job and understood what we are looking for. We have shows in Yunets, Solnik, Rudnik, Benskovski, Dobri Dol and Avren.
We meet at an intersection south of Byala and drive first to Yunets. But it is not until we come to Solnik that we realize that this is the place we have been looking for. Everything just fell into place. This is where we want to be.
After a walk around the farm and down by the barbecue area a little below the farm, we stop by Solnik Village. Here are German tourists who come by bus and will be driven by horse and carriage to a lady but nicknamed Baba Ratka, a lady who runs a tourist attraction with food and walks in her wonderful garden. We must also go here once. There will be many more places to visit, but it will also be difficult to be engaged now that we have found our place. But the owners of the places we are going to visit are waiting for us, so we just have to take the round anyway. You never know, it could be that we found something that was even better. But deep down we knew it would not happen. After over 50 visits to Bulgaria, we now know that these places are not many. Nor was anyone of interest, so after a long day we return to Obzor and Hotel Dukov.
May 18 we return to Kozichino The place with restaurant and museum. Daniela also shows us a house and a garden with finished grape vines etc. and which could be combined with the restaurant. This suddenly became a new option for staying in Bulgaria. Run the restaurant and plan for overnight tourists.
This time the weather is glorious, there are a lot of people to see, mostly elderly people gathered around the restaurant.
The ladies have made different things to sell to the tourist buses coming from Sunny Beach.
The surrounding nature is so incredibly beautiful. Green-clad hills and grazed cultural landscapes as far as the eye can see.
It is not difficult to imagine this as a starting point for tourism. Great walks in beautiful mountain terrain. As created for Norwegians.
Den gamle damen på bildet er 94 år. Hun vinker oss til seg , og vil vise oss hagen sin. Det bugner av blomster og en liten kjøkkenhage. Det var en koselig opplevelse og et kontrastfylt møte.
Daniela, a beautiful lady in her prime and this old lady who also has her beauty. Two gorgeous Bulgarian ladies.
The journey continues to places that were in no way an alternative to what we want to do. We have to stop taking a picture of the pig lying there and relax, before we drive on.
There will be some views around Sunny Beach before the trip returns to Obzor and Hotel Dukov.
Kozichino is without a doubt a wonderful place, but our thoughts go back to Solnik and the farm. The road up to Kozichino is winding, bad and long. The challenge will be in winter and without road lighting. Kozichino is also located at an altitude of over 500 meters, it is open and can be both cold and windy in the winter.
