This time I took a direct flight to Burgas with Norwegian. I had to go down anyway to close the pool for the winter, but I got a lot done this time too. As usual, I rent a car from Top Rent Car in Bulgaria. Even though there will be a few trips to Burgas to look for the right building materials, it is very nice to calm down in the evenings, enjoy the view and take a swim in the pool afterwards. I had the stones delivered to the poolside the next day, so it was just for the guys to start laying the stones. I probably chose a smaller size for the stones, so the job will probably be time-consuming. But I think it will be very nice in the end.
A local person from the village, whom I was tipped off to, came to my property to find out if I might have a water source somewhere available. It was incredibly interesting to watch him use a so-called wishing twig to find the water sources. This phenomenon is also called twig walking, a little unsure if it has a slightly negative sign. But I must admit I don’t have much faith in this phenomenon. I still chose to give it a try. It was a long process, where they also used a device that sends electricity through the ground via a wire that is connected to several spears over the discovery area. This is called ERT / Geoelectrics (Resistivity Measurement). Since clay (especially quick clay), sand and rock have completely different electrical resistance, you can use this to map exactly where the clay layers are located. So without being able to guarantee the discovery, he could tell that there is a waterway through the entire property, and that the best place is only 20 meters deep. That sounds good, so then I’ll have to check if it’s true. I need plenty of water every time I fill my pool, so why not invest in drilling?
It was also time for a barbecue with my closest neighbors. They love karaoke, so there was a lot of singing that echoed throughout the countryside. But this is common here, so nothing to be ashamed of.
